The Carolina Division will be controlled by DCC. It has been many years since I have built a layout and it was based on cab control. Before beginning work on the test track, I created a DCC wiring plan with the major components.
The test track is a simple with one turnout. This has allowed me to hone my skills in soldering to the track and frog. I quickly found out that it is not easy to solder a wire to the frog.
First, wire was run for the DCC bus. Then the frog juicer and the quad server decoder were connected to the bus with red suitcase connectors. Then the soldering began as they were connected to the turnout. And it all worked, I was able to control the turnout from both the facsia switch and the PowerCab
